David Koon, Home Grounds REA with the Alabama Extension System, was recently honored on his retirement after 33 years of service. He has been with Extension for almost 33 years starting as a county agent in 1994 in Colbert County, moved to Barbour in 1997, and has been a Regional Extension Agent since 2003.

Dr. Karl Stegall, retired United Methodist pastor, will be preaching at the Clayton and Rocky Mount Methodist Churches on July 30. He will be at the Clayton Methodist Church at 9:00 am and the Rocky Mount Methodist Church at 11:00 am. Dr. Stegall currently serves as the president of the Stegall Seminary Scholarship Foundation.
Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration will be observed Saturday in Eufaula with activities planned for everyone of all ages. The celebration, which was originally planned for June 19, had to be rescheduled due to weather conditions.
