Graduates of 1959 from Clayton High School and their spouses and friends met Saturday, August 5 at the Dothan Country Club for a Champagne brunch. The brunch was hosted by Peggy Jones. This was their 10th annual class reunion.
The Kingdom Bound Bluegrass Gospel Band will be in concert at the Clayton Methodist Church on Sunday, August 27 at 6:00 pm. Kingdom Bound is a family band made up of six siblings of the Williams family.
GUEST SPEAKER - Dr. Lonette Berg, Executive Director with the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, was guest speaker on Tuesday, August 15 at the Annual Senior Adult Celebration held at Clayton Baptist Church. Special music was provided by Tinker Danford of Eufaula. Lunch was provided by the Barbour County Baptist Association and ladies of Clayton Baptist Church. A large group of senior citizens from across the county attended the event enjoying food, fellowship, singing, and good information from the speaker. This event was sponsored by the Barbour Baptist Association.

Caroline Parish Kelly, a native of Clayton, graduated from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX during ceremonies held Saturday at Tarleton Memorial Stadium. She graduated cum laude in the Honors Program with a degree in biomedical science while competing as a student athlete on the university’s rodeo team excelling in barrel racing She was awarded athletic and scholastic scholarships at Tarleton State University.
Southern Souls Animal League is the recipient of a grant that will be used to alter and vaccinate for rabies 40 pit bulls and pit mixes for Barbour County residents. Applications may be completed on the Southern Souls Animal League’s Facebook Page.

David Koon, Home Grounds REA with the Alabama Extension System, was recently honored on his retirement after 33 years of service. He has been with Extension for almost 33 years starting as a county agent in 1994 in Colbert County, moved to Barbour in 1997, and has been a Regional Extension Agent since 2003.
