JULY - Judge Burt Smithart, Presiding Judge of Barbour and Bullock Counties, was sworn in as the newly elected President of the Alabama Association of Circuit Judges (AACJ); Texasville United Methodist Church celebrated its 126th anniversary; Mrs. Bertha Daniels Mulkey of Clayton celebrated her 101st birthday; Anderson Baptist Church in Clio held its centennial celebration; Barbour County Schools announced they will provide all back-to-school supplies for all students in the upcoming school year; municipal elections in Clayton were extended one year; Louisville Fire and Rescue dedicated their new fire truck to the memory of longtime chief Lance Clark; and a spike in COVID- 19 cases caused Barbour County to be “Very High Risk.”
