ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DAY

Members of Leadership Barbour Class XV met Thursday, January 13 at the Chamber of Commerce for their Economic Development Day. Speakers were Eufaula Mayor Jack Tibbs; Ken Novak, vice president of the Southeast Division of Alabama Power Company; Steve Hawkins, Chamber executive director; Phillip Clayton, director of economic development with the Chamber; Bobby Jon Drinkard, AIDT; Vince Perez, Alabama Department of Commerce; and Joel Watts, Alabama Power. They also toured Southern Plastics with Blair Osmer and Fendall Hall with Lindsey Bennett. Lunch was provided by Alabama Power. Bakerhill pastor receives achievement award

Rev. James Johnson’s radio persona offers a familiar sound to those whose Sunday mornings once included a rush to get to worship with the sound of Gospel music blasting from the radio situated in the window stool. Nowadays, Johnson’s familiar voice graces Facebook Live Tuesdays through Fridays and Sunday mornings. Those who tune in have come to expect to hear nothing less than the best gospel music available. Johnson does not disappoint.

Barbour County queens crowned

The Miss Barbour County 2022 pageant winners were crowned Saturday in Eufaula.
