GIFTS OF LOVE
GIFTS OF LOVE - Members of the GIFTT (God’s Inspiration for Today and Tomorrow) Ministry at Louisville Baptist Church are shown with the Easter gift baskets they made for seven ladies throughout Barbour County. The baskets were presented to ladies in the communities who are coping with illness, loss of a spouse, or simple needed a boost in spirits. They contain devotionals, candy, novelty dishes, hand towels, crosses, Bible markers, words of encouragement, puzzles, pens, and much more. Pictured with the Easter baskets are Judy Clark, Keisha Whitman, founder and president, Merilyn McCraney, treasurer, and team members Kelley Richards, Beverly Raddatz and Angie Bowdoin. Local students selected for summer leadership program
Seven high school students from Barbour and Bullock County have been selected to participate in the inaugural cohort of The Focus Initiative’s Summer Leadership Institute (SLI). The program is a paid eight-week workforce readiness and leadership development program for rising 10th through 12th grade students.

Students advance in creative writing class
Creative writing students from Admiral Moorer Middle School in Eufaula are set to be published authors! Students were introduced to poetry during the first week of class with a published poem written by their teacher when she was in the eighth grade. A goal was set for them to become published authors, also. Eleven of the students have already accomplished this goal as they have been chosen to have their work published in the Spring 2025 hardbound anthology A Celebration of Poets.

BCHS celebrates School Library Month
Barbour County High School joined the nation’s libraries in celebrating School Library Month this April 2025. The aim of School Library Month is to encourage school librarians to engage their schools and communities with activities highlighting the importance of strong school libraries.
Bluff City Chorale to present concert Monday, April 28 at Chamber of Commerce
The Bluff City Chorale will present its third annual concert on Monday, April 28, at 7:00 PM at the Eufaula/ Barbour County Chamber of Commerce on East Broad Street in Eufaula. There is no charge for admission, but donations are welcome.
