Governor Kay Ivey on Wednesday announced the completion of the process to transfer the American Rescue Plan Act funds designated for broadband expansion to the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).
Louisville police officers were successful in getting a woman who was wandering on highways in Clayton and Louisville back to her home safely. Several people reported that they had seen the woman on Highway 30 outside Clayton city limits as well as in Louisville walking.
Two Dale County men were killed to separate traffic accidents Friday night within an hour of each other. A 15-year-old juvenile from Ozark was pronounced deceased at the scene in an accident that occurred about 9:10 p..m.
Rough waters are attributed to the drowning of a Dothan man near White Oak Creek Saturday afternoon. The victim was identified as Claude Williams, 59, who drowned when the boat he and another passenger were in capsized.
Chris Wilkinson has accepted the position as pastor of First Baptist Church, Eufaula. He accepts the position after serving the church for 27 years as their Youth Minister.

A grieving community is asking “why” after the body of a 12-year-old was pulled from Barbour Creek last Tuesday night, March 22, in Eufaula. “Why” did Zyrion Harris, a student at Admiral Moorer Middle School, not go home after school? “Why” did he go to Barbour Creek? “Why” did this tragedy occur? Eufaula Police Chief Steve Watkins reports a 911 call was made at 5:20 p.m.
The General United Daughters of the Confederacy, Henry D. Clayton District, held their district meeting at Lakepoint Resort Saturday, February 19 in the Riverside Ballroom at 10:30 a.m. The district consists of UDC chapters in Andalusia, Dothan, Enterprise, Ozark and Eufaula.
