Barbour trooper receives ALEA Lifesaving Award

Corporal James Phillips of Barbour County was one of the four Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Troopers that are recipients of the Agency’s Lifesaving Award and Certificate of Recognition for outstanding professionalism and skills displayed through heroic acts that saved the life of another as well as preserving public safety, while simultaneously upholding ALEA’s proud tradition of selfish service. The announcement was made by Hal Taylor, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Secretary.

Pea River CEO discusses proposed project for broadband internet

Surveys have been sent to customers of Pea River Electric Cooperative in three counties to determine interest in the installation of broadband internet in their coverage areas. Jeff Hodges, CEO of Pea River, appeared before Barbour County Commissioners last week to discuss a proposed project to offer “quality true broadband” to customers in Barbour, Dale, and Henry counties.

‘Years of Service’ Award Ceremony

Medical Center Barbour employees recognized for more than one year of service 41 YEARS OF SERVICE Ronnie Hancock, an employee with Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula, was honored recently for his 41 years of service.The hospital has just started a “Years of Service Ceremony” again to honor all employees who have been with the hospital for more than one year.
