On June 29, Dr. John Ed Mathison, retired Methodist pastor, will preach at the Clayton Methodist Church at 9:00 am and at the Rocky Mount Methodist Church at 11:00 am. A covered dish lunch will follow the service at Rocky Mount.
A night of great food, fellowship and entertainment will be on tap at Barbour County’s Farm to Table Dinner. The event is planned for Friday, July 11, at Oak Bottom Farm. The farm is located at 622 County Road 15, Ariton.
The congregation at Epworth Family Church, which was formerly affiliated with the United Methodist Church, in Eufaula, assures the public that the church is not closing.
On Monday, June 2, Clayton City Hall buzzed with energy as local youth gathered and were greeted by Mayor Kathy Thomas of Clayton and Mayor Roderick Clark of Union Springs for the kickoff orientation of the Focus Initiative Summer Leadership Program. The event, led by founder Jamorrey Gosha, brought together students from across Barbour-Bullock County to embark on their first challenge: identifying a pressing community issue as part of their leadership development journey.
