Children strive to catch the big one

Children in three age groups, 6 to 9, 10 to 13, and 14 to 18, turned out with their fishing gear to Old Creek Town Park on Lake Eufaula Friday to enter competitions in the Action Marine Fishing Rodeo sponsored by the Eufaula Parks and Recreation. The fishing rodeo, named for the major sponsor, Action Marine, brought children to the lake to wet their feet as well as their fishing rods in hopes of catching a lot of fish. They also entered a drawing for a bike to be given away in all three age group categories. Winners of the bikes provided by the sponsors were James Guilford, ages 6-9, Jerry Hicks, ages 10-13, and Cutter Swint, ages 14-18.
