Eufaula Elementary Art Club visits Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art

EUFAULA CITY SCHOOLS Eufaula Elementary School Art Club members traveled to Auburn to visit the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art recently. Students attending were Caleigh Kennedy, Aleiyah Yates, Britney Vargus-Gomez, Thomas Cunningham, Dequaveon Sandifer, Danielle Steele, Rye Braswell, Martha Marcos-Sebastian, Sadie Alarcon, Kevin Johnson, Jenna Cao, Karter Rossin, Karlee Martin, Brock Faircloth, Curtis Williams, Trace Jarvis, Caidee Tate, Tirth Patel, Jaiden Anglin, Elias Francisco- Sebastian, Brayden Gibson, Egwin Barrios-Lopez, Preslee Faircloth, Gavin Hollins and Addison Long.

AL State Parks to recognize special contributors with its Eagle Award

The Alabama State Parks Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will again recognize special contributors to the parks with its prestigious Eagle Awards. Nominations for the seventh annual Eagle Awards are open online at www.alapark.com/eagleawards- 2023.com and the awards will be presented in five categories: Elected Official, Community Partner, Park Partner, Volunteer in Parks (VIP) and Youth (students 12th grade and younger). Deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, Dec. 23, 2022.

Education is group effort

A new superintendent has taken on awesome responsibilities to lead the Barbour County School District. Dr. Keith Stewart comes to the county school system with a lot of experience and accomplishments that he can provide as he tackles the challenges in the days ahead for him.

Commissioners support two amendments

Barbour County commissioners are encouraging voters to vote yes on two constitutional amendments that will be included on the November 8 General Election ballot. They approved a resolution in support of Amendments 2 and 7, which address the use of COVID relief funds for broadband projects and economic development, respectively.
