The Barbour County High School Science classes traveled to Birmingham to the McWane Science Center for a fun and educational field trip recently. Students had a great time observing demonstrations exploring various exhibits and taking part in hands-on learning.
A drive-by shooting was reported shortly about 6:30 Tuesday night on North Midway Street in Clayton. At the scene, three victims were shot and several cars sustained damage by the gun shots fired into the parking lot.
Barbour County commissioners will contract with a consultant to advise them on the best way to repair the nonfunctional elevator in the county courthouse in Clayton. They met in a special called meeting Monday morning during which they discussed procedures to take to repair the elevator that has been inoperable for several months.
Turkey season opened in Barbour County March 25 and will conclude May 8. Turkey season is one of the shortest hunting seasons on the calendar. However, this short season only makes the turkey hunter relish the hunt even more.

Do you want county commissioners to invest public funds for Medical Center Barbour? You will have the opportunity to let them know your feelings at two public hearings. They encourage citizens of Barbour County to attend public hearings to voice their opinions on the county giving money to the Eufaula hospital.
The Barbour County High School Jaguars have added a new sport to its athletic program this spring. Boys Soccer will be that program.
Barbour County Deputies Alan Anderson, Brandon Rivers and Sgt. Colton D. Ludlam responded to an apparent Burglary in progress at a hunting camp on Friday, March 31 at approximately 7:15 p.m. The hunting camp is located at 1872 Highway 51 North.
