Hospital appropriated public funds

Barbour County commissioners approved a resolution to appropriate a total of $550,000 to assist the financially strapped hospital in Eufaula. In a meeting that lasted less than 30 minutes held in Clayton Tuesday, commissioners unanimously approved the appropriation to the Health Care Authority of the City of Eufaula “to support the continued availability of hospital services and support economic development.” The funds, to be taken from the commission’s America Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, are specified for Medical Center Barbour’s operational purposes.
