Allie Logan, Barbour County Extension Coordinator with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Auburn University, announced this week that she has accepted the position of Assistant Director for Field Operation- Southeast with the Alabama Extension. Her new position will take effect October 1, 2023.
The Barbour County Commission has operated a landfill for the disposal of items such as leaves and limbs for years but now the future of its operation is in question. Rising costs of operation, aging equipment, additional employees, and the need for more acreage are some of the concerns commissioners discussed at their regular meeting last week.

Louisville Pastor Michael Whitman was sworn in Saturday night, June 4, as the new Southeast Alabama Community Action Program (SEACAP) Board member representing Barbour County. The event was held in Dothan at the SEACAP office.
Troy is pleased to announce students who have been named to the Provost's List for the Spring Semester and Term 4 of the 2022-2023 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65 qualify for the Provost's List. The Spring Semester includes students at the Troy campus. Term 4 includes students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery along with locations outside of Alabama and online.
Barbour County Director of Missions, Dr. Don Hatcher, was honored Sunday afternoon, June 4, with a reception for his 10 years of service to the Barbour County Baptist Association. The reception was held at 3:00 p.m. in the Association Office in Clayton.

75 YEARS AGO JUNE 11, 1948 Tubby Daniel, Charles DeVane and Tommy Warr, all of Clayton High School, are representing the Barbour County American Legion Post No. 14, Clayton, at Boy’s State, which is being held at the University of Alabama this week.
