I have been receiving a large amount of phone calls and talking with people about the “white stuff” on their house plants. The changes in the climate and people relocating some of their plants from the outside to the inside of their homes will bring those types of results. When this starts happening, people have the notion of placing their plants close, in a location where the climate may be too moist, or the climate may be too dry. Nevertheless, the problem is Powdery Mildew, which is a fungus disease in plants that is commonly seen in warm and dry climates. It has the appearance or appears on plants as dusty splotches of white or gray powder on the leaves and stems of infected plants. Studies have shown that Powdery Mildew (PM) is at the top of the list as one of the most common problems for house plants and outside plants such as landscape plants and garden plants.
