The recent rains have been welcoming that have helped bring down the humidity but it’s still hot. Some people are saying that it is the warmest weather conditions they have ever seen. We tend to agree! ****** A lot of football fans are ready for the season to begin. It will not be long before fans will be filling the stadiums in anticipation of winning seasons! There’s always a lot of hype around the games!

We received a telephone call from Betty Harrison Baker of Columbia, SC Monday and enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood days in Clayton. A few years ago she returned home and had a nice tour of the area where she has many fond memories. Thanks Betty for sharing with us your memories of home!

It’s hard for us to image that school doors will be opening for a new term beginning this week. We tend to lean toward opinions stated that students now get out of school too late and start too early. We remember times when classes did not start until after Labor Day. Today’s schedules, however, allow for longer holiday breaks and other days off to separate the school year. It is what it is, as they say, so we extend our well wishes to all who are returning to the classrooms and wish all a successful school year. ****** It’s still hot outside. Continue to take precautions and stay hydrated. As always protect your pets from this extreme heat.
