Mrs. Jean Fenn informed us that she saw her first hummingbird last week so it’s time to clean up the feeders and get them put out. Those who enjoy the tiny hummingbirds find them fascinating to watch as they huddle around feeders. No need to buy hummingbird nectar because it’s easy to make your own. Just combine 1 part sugar to 4 parts water or 1/4 cup sugar to 1 cup water. Some say there’s no need to boil it. No need to add red food coloring. You are advised to change and clean the feeders at least every other day and refrigerate left over nectar.
