Man enters guilty plea in federal court

A Eufaula man has entered a guilty plea to two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Robert Skyler White, 27, was sentenced to 160 months behind bars after he pled guilty to federal firearms charges, according to the Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama.

Paramedics graduate from Wallace Community College

In celebration of National EMS Week 2023, Wallace Community College- Dothan (WCCD) is proud to announce that 100% of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Paramedic spring 2023 graduating cohort passed their National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification exam on the first attempt. The NREMT’s mission is to provide a valid, uniform process to assess the knowledge and skills required for competent practice by EMS professionals throughout their careers. Additionally, 100% of the cohort have secured employment upon completion of the program.

Troy University releases Chancellor List for spring semester

Troy University is pleased to announce students who have been named to the Chancellor's List for the spring semester and Term 4 of the 2022-2023 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0 qualify for the Chancellor's List. The spring semester includes students at the Troy, Ala., campus. Term 4 includes students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with locations outside of Alabama and online.

WINDS KNOCK OUT POWER IN CLAYTON

CLAYTON RESIDENTS LOSE ELECTRICAL POWER - Alabama Power Company crews responded quickly Friday morning after residents on North Midway Street in Clayton woke up with no electrical power. It was soon learned that apparent straight line winds snapped a tree causing it to fall on a home and then broke a power pole snapping electrical and cable lines loose about 4:30 a.m. Other damage also was reported on County Road 79 north and Highway 51 north early Friday morning.

Family feud erupts at Clayton housing units

An apparent feud between two families in Clayton is suspected to have led to an out-ofcontrol brawl Sunday night at a local housing authority. Law enforcement officers from several different agencies descended on the scene to Westfield Court on Highway 51 in Clayton when they were dispatched about 7 p.m. They included Clayton, Louisville and Eufaula police departments and Barbour County deputies.
