Bernice Earle Clark, 94, died Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in Panama City, FL. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 2 P.M. at Sardis Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Joey McCreight officiated and burial followed in the Sardis Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Chapman Funeral Home directing.
Born August 5, 1929, Bernice was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Ella Mae Toole Searcy, Sr. She was born in Alabama. She was a lifetime member of Sardis Freewill Baptist Church and was employed with over 50 years in women’s clothing retail sales. She loved her family and celebrating birthdays.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Marie (Jan) Moody of Lafayette, Louisiana and Charlotte Curcio of Eufaula, Alabama, nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years John Calvin Clark, daughter Brenda Vickers, son-inlaw Mac Vickers, son-inlaw Ted Curcio, great grandchildren John Benjamin Pomeroy and Miranda Pomeroy, eight brothers John Henry Searcy, Jr., Dalvin Searcy, Henry Searcy, Rudolph Searcy, George Searcy, Robert Searcy, Billy Ray Searcy, and Wayne Searcy.
Active pallbearers were Blake Cole, Clark Cole, Dakota Hudson, Dallas Hudson, Jim Vickers, Hunter Pomeroy, Zack Roberson, William Moody, John Moody and Dylan Abercrombie. Honorary pallbearers were Roger Cole, Jimmy Vickers, Eric Pomeroy, Ben Pomeroy, Malcolm Wilson, Jeremiah Chambers, Joe Beeson and Jason Roberson.
