SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS - Terry Honan, center, is shown with the recipients of the Anmarie Barrie Honan scholarships that were presented in memory of his late wife. The scholarship recipients were named Saturday during the Eufaula Pilgrimage at Shorter Mansion. Shown are Brantley Weeks, the top male applicant, De’Jiah Williams, Annie Wingate, top female applicant, Honan, Ella Grace Bradley and Eliza Eriksen. Ella Grace Bradley, Eliza Eriksen and De’Jiah Williams were in a three-way tie in the votes cast by the judges for the second and third place winners. It was decided to award 2/3 of a scholarship to the three winners. Since the Anmarie Barrie Honan scholarships were established in 2014, 39 $1,000 scholarships have been awarded to deserving Barbour County students. Honan said, “We had, by far, the best group of applicants we have ever had. They were all truly outstanding.”
