OFFICERS TAKE OATH - Probate Judge Susan Shorter is shown administering the oath of office to the newly elected officers of the Barbour County Branch 5075 of the NAACP. Officers taking the oath are Monchel Hollins, president, Brittani O’Hara-Grant, vice president, Sharlene Washington, treasurer, Eugene Harris, assistant treasurer, Mildred Harris, secretary, and Zaneta Daniels, assistant secretary. The installation ceremony was held at the Carnegie Library in Eufaula on January 7. Rev. Alex Moses gave the invocation, Jewel Harris, outgoing president, gave a history and purpose of the organization as well as closing remarks and acknowledgements, and Mo Erkins, membership chairperson, gave the membership call to action. The Rev. Neil Kaminski gave the benediction.
