C.W. Fryer of Clayton died Sunday, May 19, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan.
Mr. Fryer was an active member of his community serving as a former board member of the Pea River Electric Co-Op. He retired from the Barbour County Board of Education after 42 years of service as a bus driver. He was also an inspiring entrepreneur. Mr. Fryer was an active member in his church, Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for a number of years. He enjoyed gospel singing, fishing and hunting.
He was born October 10, 1935 to the late Paul and Lessie Fryer. He was married to Evelyn Odom on January 3, 1961.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 25, at 11:00 a.m. at the Barbour County High School Gymnasium in Clayton with Pastor Harrison Young officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery.
To celebrate his memories, he leaves behind his wife, Evelyn, his children, Sharon Fryer Williams, Yvette Fryer and Steve Fryer, a brother, Charlie Fryer, a sister, Green Pipus, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and loving friends.
