Debbie Burnham Campbell passed away suddenly Thursday night, February 1, 2024 at Encompass Health & Rehab in Dothan, Alabama.
Debbie was born April 23, 1961 in Ft. Rucker, Alabama. She spent a lot of her childhood drawing and painting and living in Germany where her father was stationed until she was about 10 when they returned back to Clayton, AL. She graduated from Louisville High School in 1979 and graduated from Wallace Community College for Art in 1982. After college she worked at the Lewis Agency in Eufaula, AL for about 15 years selling insurance until she was diagnosed with MS.
Debbie grew up being the life of the party and just enjoying life. In 1994 she met the love of her life, Charles E. Campbell and they were married on March 4, 1995 and soon after welcomed their son, Austin, into the world.
Debbie had a love of many things and one of them was her Auburn Tigers. You could always find her and Charles watching football going back and forth about her Tigers and his Crimson Tide. She also loved Elvis, cutting grass, the Atlanta Braves, gardening, and especially her woodworking and painting. She also had a very special love and bond with her greatniece/ nurse/little helper, Sam McGilvray. You could always find Sam helping Debbie with whatever she needed.
Funeral services were held Monday, February. 5, 2024 at Keahey Funeral Home in Clio at 2 p.m.with Rev. Bob Cox officiating. The family received friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment followed at Bethel Cemetery in Blue Springs.
Pallbearers were Cody Campbell, James Bryant Wisdom Jr., Damion Hamilton, Tyler Ryals, Jeremiah Walker, Kyle Walker, Dylan Burnham and Greg Faulk.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 29 years, Charles E. Campbell, Louisville; son, James Austin Campbell of Anderson, Indiana; daughter, Tina (Bryant) Wisdom of Wicksburg,; son, Michael (Angie) Campbell of Daleville, honorary daughter, April McGilvray of Clayton; honorary daughter, Bridget Hamilton of Clayton; mother, Murrell Burnham of Clayton, Al; brother, Ricky (Lisa) Burnham of Clio, Al; brother, Greg (Kathy) Burnham of Smuteye, Al; 9 grandchildren, 3 great children; numerous nieces and nephews and special lifelong friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, James (Jim) Burnham in 2004 and her sister, Tina Burnham McGilvray in 2008.
