Frances Kay Bowden Morris, a resident of Clayton, Alabama, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023 at her residence. She was 68 years old.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Clayton, Alabama with Rev. Don Highland and Bro. Bob McMath officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing. Burial followed in the church cemetery. A visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Frances was born December 2, 1954 in Eufaula, Alabama to the late John Bunyan and Betty June Baxley Bowden. She was a graduate of Tri-County Academy. Frances was a hard worker and owned Personal Touch Beauty Shop in Clayton for many years. She also worked at Bowden Trucking as the office manager and was a Mary Kay consultant.
In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crafting, and planning events and parties. Frances was the Bible School Director for the Baptist Association for 15 years, she was a certified bookkeeper, and was a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Betty Bowden Bramlett.
Survivors include her loving husband, George Larry Morris; son, George Larry Morris Jr.
(Shanett); sister, Peggy Bowden Faircloth (Gerald); three grandchildren, April Noel Morris, Jeffrey Elon Morris, and Amy Leann Morris; special niece, Erica Granberry (Mike); special nephew, John Thomas Faircloth; special greatniece, Lynsey Covington (Chris); special greatgreat nephews, Mason Granberry and Hunter Covington.
Asked to serve as pallbearers were Cyrus Dunn, John Thomas Faircloth, Joshua Knight, John Bowden, Aaron Green, Jordan Green, Tim Bowden, and Don Tomlin.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob Tomlin and the men of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.
