DONNA LOIS CARPENTER

Donna Lois Carpenter, age 57, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at her residence. She was surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2023 at Keahey Funeral Home in Clio. Reverend Timmy Hall officiated. The family received friends at Keahey Funeral Home an hour prior to services. Burial followed in Pea River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim McKinny, Jeff Davis, Terry Adams, Bobby Strickland, Scott Myers and Zach Shipes. Honorary pallbearer was her son, Matthew Davis.

Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her loving mother Irma Warrick Carpenter, her son, Matthew Davis of Dothan (fiancé Shelley -Ann Simonsen), loving sister, Traci(fiancé Scott Myers) Carpenter of Clio; uncles and aunts, Ricky Carpenter, Tim McKenney, Marie (Carl) Price, Joyce Medley and JoAnn (Donnie) Brown; niece, Karson Gavanditti, and nephew Zach Shipes. Also missing her dearly will be her mother’s dog,“Bo” and especially her rescue dog, a blue pit bull, “Harley.”

She was preceded in death by her daddy, James Melvin “Jimmy” Carpenter, whom she loved dearly; grandparents, Melvin and Martha Frances Carpenter, and Ammie “Hambone” and Mable Eugene Warrick.

Donna fought a long battle that began with juvenile diabetes at age 9. But even with that lifelong challenge, she always had a smile for everyone. She was a graduate of the Sparks College/ Eufaula, LPN Nursing Program. When her son Matthew was in school she did substitute teaching at G.W. Long School in Skipperville. As a little girl her daddy gave her the nickname “Charlie”. Growing up she stayed by her daddy’s side as often as she could that instilled in her a love for automobiles and restoring them. She developed a life skill that enabled her to become the parts manager at the Dothan Airport. Donna loved the color purple, she spoke her mind, and her son, Matthew and her dog, Harley were the loves of her life. She will be greatly missed.
