Mr. Edward Lamar Powers. 91, of Baker Hill, Alabama died Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at his residence.

Graveside services were held Friday, June 30, 2023, at 2 P.M. in the Clayton Cemetery. Rev. Chris Toole officiated with Chapman Funeral Home directing.

Born October 31, 1931 in Clayton, Alabama, Mr. Powers was the son of the late James Monroe and Annie Lee Smith Powers. Mr. Powers was retired from the United States Air Force, where he was a veteran of the Korean War. He served with United States Army Engineers. He was a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeant Association and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5850. He was a disabled veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife Susie Ann White Powers, his son Wesley Dale Powers and his brother Wallace Monroe Powers.

Survivors include his son, Douglas Glen Powers of Tennessee; his daughter, Brenda Fay Rowland of Baker Hill, Alabama; one brother, Jimmy Eugene Powers of Abbeville, Alabama; one sister, Annie Nell Phillips of Sumpter, South Carolina; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
