Mrs. Lena Kate Harden of Banks, formerly of Clio, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at her residence. She was 89.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Ramah Church in Pike County (4547 County Road 6618, Banks, AL 36005). The family received friends at the church one hour prior to the services. Rev. Averyt Walker and Rev. Charlie Newman officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ramah Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Matt Harden, Brian Kilpatrick, Kevin Newman, Benjamin Newman, Riley Danner, and Terry Key.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, John Harden; son, Bart Harden (Lisa) of Ariton, AL; daughter, Renee Newman (Charlie) of Banks, AL; grandchildren, Matt Harden (Lindsay), Hope Kilpatrick (Brian), Kevin Newman (Rebecca), Benjamin Newman (Jamie); great grandchildren, Avery, Eli, Easton, Kamdyn, John, Luna, and Naomi.

Lena Kate was the daughter of Purry Danner and Annie Lott Danner. She was a 1951 graduate of Barbour County High School in Clio. She and John owned and operated Harden’s Dixie Dandy in Clio and Louisville for 26 years. She was a great cook and talented wedding cake baker and loved spending time with her family.
