THEATUS RAWDON BEATY

Mr. Theatus Rawdon Beaty, age 83, a resident of Louisville, passed away, January 5, 2022 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.

Graveside services with military honors were held Friday, January 7, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Louisville City Cemetery in Louisville, Alabama with Rev. Mike Whitman officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Louisville Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 125, Louisville, Alabama 36048.

Rawdon was born March 21, 1938 in Barbour County, the son of Finous Lee Beaty and Nadine Benton Beaty. He graduated from Louisville High School and served in the Air Force. Mr. Beaty was one of the founding members of Louisville Rescue. He served as president of the American Agriculture Movement and during that time he drove his tractor to Washington D.C. He was elected Farmer of the Year in 1980 and helped build the Dixie Academy football stadium. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, LeRae Beaty and nephew, Lee Allen Beaty.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Carole Tarleton Beaty, Louisville; two sons, Christopher Beaty, Tarleton Beaty (Emily); daughter, Detra Sneed (Buddy); six grandchildren, Courtney Fleischmann (Brian), Colby Spivey (Delane), Camryn Sneed, Ella Kate Beaty, Talan Beaty, Darby Beaty; four great grandchildren, Austin Fleischmann, Nathan Fleischmann, Elizabeth Spivey, James Spivey, and best friend, Charlie Parker.

Asked to serve as pallbearers were Buddy Sneed, Brian Fleischmann, Mark Andrews, Delane Spivey, Trip Horne, and Dwain Hamm. Asked to serve as honorary pallbearers were Charlie Parker, Dr. Tommy Horne, Charles Beasley, and Jimmy Grant.
